Maxis and Iphone

I went to Maxis at Satok, Kuching this morning. They opened at 9am but we arrived there 5 mins before that. Waited for a few minutes before the representative greeted us and tell us more about the Maxis's offer - Iphone. Here's the brochure we've got from the booth.

I don't like the design of Iphone, so I do not know what it is capable of. I don't like the wide touch screen thing. I don't like the idea of having phone without buttons, if there's something wrong with the screen sensitivity, it means that the whole phone is useless. Also, this phone is vulnerable to knocks and scratches. Click on the pictures to view the text.

Moving on the details of our conversation, here's the summary of the main points (sorry if my evaluation doesn't make sense to you): -
1. iValue1 has the minimum monthly commitment - RM100. THis RM100/month is applicable for calls (SMS not included). They offer 500MB of data which is very minimal for active users of facebook, etc. etc.

2. I have also asked if this RM100 is applicable for subsidiary line. The answer is no.

3. According to her, the market price for 8GB is RM3900, but Maxis offers existing post paid users to buy at RM2540. 16GB's market price is RM6,000 but we can buy from Maxis at RM2,960. The market price is not so accurate. My husband told me that for 8GB we can get it as low as below RM2,000.

4. Iphone does not a dual sim-card. According to the representative, the one with this is from China. Don't know it is accurate info or nope.

5. Iphone from Maxis comes with 1 year warranty. No warranty is extended to users who installed other 3rd party software during this period. Do not take off the SIRIM stickers or else you will be liable for taxes if you are on overseas trips. Blackberry is a other type of phone that is also liable for this.

Summary: It's a No No.
