Dreams Again

I have restless sleep last night. Due to baby and also stress at work. I always feel stress whenever my boss return to work. Although if she's not around, i feel stress as well mainly due to her passdown.

It was so real, I was at my home with baby and my eldest sister. It was dark outside but we saw the sky lighten up with nice fire works which resembled a drawing in the sky. All of a sudden, about 3 dog-like creature with tusks like an elephant (looks like the extinct animal in the dinosaur age) fallen from sky and start running into our house. One of the dog got into the room we were in. I was so scared and grab my daughter's hand to pray to mi-le-fuo. It walked away after sometimes.

I strongly think that there is some meanings behind this. Maybe mi-le-fuo is reminding me that it's time to bring baby and myself to the temple. FYI, this is not the normal temple we seen. We call this temple, our fuo tang.

Stealing

It was around Satok Building. Where there are 5 strangers in my cars, all guys. 2 of them are chinese and are good people while 3 others, i think were foreigners. It was funny that suddenly I realized that my wallet is not in my handbag. I remember I have 200+ in side, and a credit card. The Chinese guys were very helpful and they brought me to the police to lodge police report. One of them even gave me RM5 (although very little) and other Chinese guy treated me a meal at KFC.

It was so real but I realized it was just a dream. I should take some precautions.

My heartache for a person with Epilepsy

I have encountered 3 persons with Epilepsy/Sawan Babi. However, my heartache goes deeply for a woman in her 30's. I feel very sorry for her. Whenever i thought of her, I will feel sorrow and hope that this illness will not attack her no more.

She is very nice hearted and generous. Although most people would hate her due to her straightness in her speech. THe daily pills she swallows... as early as 5am ... Why would there be such cruelty in this world.

I pray and hope that her in-laws will treat her well. She is just married and her in law witnessed the first attack. I really symphatize her.

Although sometimes I may be just like one of them, I don't mean it. I love her and I don't want her to live life like this... May God has some sympathy towards her and bless her with a better normal life ...

Boulevard- Baby/Photo taking

We went to Boulevard yesterday afternoon. They organised photo taking session at babies level in the hypermarket. I can't go there to take better photos, because my princess was bugging me to stand by her to watch her play her favourite car and bicycle nearby. There were lots of people. It's kinda professional photo taking.

A stranger/lady approached me. Guess what's she's asking.

Lim Fah San Temple

I went to Lim Fah San Temple after dropping off my daughter at her kindy. Here's some snapshots i took after completing my prayers.

There are only few people visited this temple at the time I went there. There was a couple with the pregnant wife. They went for "qiu cien"/"qiu qien". It is officially called - Lim Fah San Temple Guan Yin Ling Qian. It is done when someone needs direction from God. I have done twice here, although i find the whole thing is quite heavy and i need some time to drop one bamboo straw out.

Usually, there will be a person to translate the outcome of "qiu cien", but i guess for this temple, they do not have one. For me, I prefer to interpret the whole thing by myself (comes with English and Chinese prescription).

I wonder why they keep renovating Guan Yin's figure. I hope nothing serious. I love this place too much.

I hope I know what this God's name is.

Mi Le Fuo. Smiling Buddha.

This could be the Guan Kung. Sorry, I am just guessing.

I also don't know this.

This is Tu Di Gong (Earth God??)

No Idea

Mi le Fuo (Smiling Buddha)

This is why I have regretted not learning how to recognise Chinese Characters.

Traffic Jam

I am on my way to fetch my daughter. So bored, so i snapped some photos with my Dopod 577w. There's no longer demand for this phone. i like it because it is like a mini computer (PDA) with wi-fi, organiser. I have to admit that the photo resolution (1.3mp) is very poor. Screen a bit too small for internet surfing.

Husband said houses at this area is good because the police quarters are just situated opposite the road.

The police quarters.

Long waited queue.

No "law"

Almost there. An auntie in black merce looked at me fiercely as she is waiting for me to move on when she wants to readjust her parking. I was snapping photos that time. :p

Still long queue.. the road were blocked by the cars.. at Tadika Rhema area.

Do you think this is funny? "RESERVE PARKING FOR GUAN HO LEONG" I think they were trying to tell their customer that they can reserve parking for them, but by putting this sign in the middle of the road, don't they get summon from traffic police officers?

Toxicated

In February 09, I was having a week break to prepare for my final MBA exam. Due to body heatiness, I was down with this horrible illness just 2 days prior the exam. It causes terrible burning itches all over my body and i can't even concentrate what i am doing. It's just like a mosquito bites all over my body, and they are growing into big red bumps.

See the patches, makes me feel the itches right now.

Some more pics, which may turn you off.

FYI, this is the photo of my thigh and calf. the whole thing looks swolen, like an elephant leg.

I went to the emergency department of KPJ and the lady doctor prescribed me with the alergy pills. She claimed that it is due to food allergy and it won't go off at least a week. I was a bit worried and wondered if i should go for chinese doctor to get it fixed asap. I can't even concentrate my studies under condition like this.

I went to Lim Hua San Temple, had a quick pray. To pray for some lucks in the upcoming exam and also hope to get rid of this itches.

At home, i tried all sorts of home remedy. My grandparent in law asked me to wipe my body with white wine and also chang mau, grinded - soaked in hot water.

Doesn't get the itch away, so i wipe my body with diluted dettol. Also swallow down two dulcolax after recalling that I have suffered constipation for more than 2 days.

It just got well in the evening. Thank God. but KPJ's pill doesn't work and i was lucky that i got it away in just one day!

If you are unhappy with your work life, just go...

I used to complaint to my ex-colleagues the headache I had with works and with people around me. Some office boy can be arrogant and treated you so impolitely. I am still babbling about my new job here. I have not feel regret after moving on to this job since November 2008. I think this is a good opportunity for me but things just happen too much for me to gobble. I think I am losing patience with this company. All I can do is to walk away if only i have the chance. Right now, no chance means I have to obediently adhere to the rules. Definitely, looking for a chance now.!!

Of course, with MBA certs.. somemore with flying colors in all the subjects.. I should be confident in the job hunt. Deep down, i hope that the condition of the present job improves... ihope i get better working companion.

Monster House

This cartoon is one of my favorite, also my daughter's favorite. I never tire of watching this again and again. Compared to other movie collections which my daughter is having, this is somehow different. The character is real-looking and the storyboard is fascinating. I am searching for another movie like this for my daughter.

Nicholas Cage

He is a good actor. I like all the movies with him as the main actor. The latest one I have seen is the "Bangkok Dangerous". Charlie Yeung, used to act in HK movies is acting as his blind girlfriend. The whole story is a very touching one. The movie was about Nicholas as professional killer. Nicholas suicided in the end due to morality and religious concern and it was a sad story.

Maxis and Iphone

I went to Maxis at Satok, Kuching this morning. They opened at 9am but we arrived there 5 mins before that. Waited for a few minutes before the representative greeted us and tell us more about the Maxis's offer - Iphone. Here's the brochure we've got from the booth.

I don't like the design of Iphone, so I do not know what it is capable of. I don't like the wide touch screen thing. I don't like the idea of having phone without buttons, if there's something wrong with the screen sensitivity, it means that the whole phone is useless. Also, this phone is vulnerable to knocks and scratches. Click on the pictures to view the text.

Moving on the details of our conversation, here's the summary of the main points (sorry if my evaluation doesn't make sense to you): -
1. iValue1 has the minimum monthly commitment - RM100. THis RM100/month is applicable for calls (SMS not included). They offer 500MB of data which is very minimal for active users of facebook, etc. etc.

2. I have also asked if this RM100 is applicable for subsidiary line. The answer is no.

3. According to her, the market price for 8GB is RM3900, but Maxis offers existing post paid users to buy at RM2540. 16GB's market price is RM6,000 but we can buy from Maxis at RM2,960. The market price is not so accurate. My husband told me that for 8GB we can get it as low as below RM2,000.

4. Iphone does not a dual sim-card. According to the representative, the one with this is from China. Don't know it is accurate info or nope.

5. Iphone from Maxis comes with 1 year warranty. No warranty is extended to users who installed other 3rd party software during this period. Do not take off the SIRIM stickers or else you will be liable for taxes if you are on overseas trips. Blackberry is a other type of phone that is also liable for this.

Summary: It's a No No.

Immunisation

My daughter's class is in morning session. Therefore, I need to go to Jawa Clinic to change the next appointment time from 8am to 2.30pm. Actually, I would like it to be 12.30 but they are close at this time. Means that I will be taking a day off to bring her for checkup. Just to share, this is my daughter's immune checklist. I am going to bring this to doctor in my next visit to check with them if other immunisation is necessary.

From what i know, there is one extra immunisation for pneumococal and flu. Pneumococal is an important one, RM300. For my daughter, one jab is sufficient as she is now 3 years plus old.

She'll be having final immunisation jab from Jawa Clinic at the age of 4.5 years old. I am sure that she will scream her lungs out.

Maniac encounter

I have encountered men behaving wildly twice in Kuching.

First, it was early in the morning and I walked slowly to the assembly point where Hong Leong Bank organises its Jogerthon activity near Merdeka Palace. As I walked past the post office, there is this guy calling for my attention, when I turn over, he showed and shake his dick. I think he thought that I would scream but I stayed calm as if nothing happen at all. But after that incident, I feel that it is very disgusting.

Second, I was out of the immigration building, approaching for my car. There was this man, all naked. He was stopping near my car. I was glad that it was a busy period where there are a lot of passers by. I asked for help from the Mr Guard, but he didn’t do anything much to help. He said that he will go away soon.

Boiled Egg

I got this manual from one of the forwarded mails. I failed in my first trial. My egg was never cooked. Where have i done wrong...?

1) Place two pieces of tissue paper inside the rice cooker and sprinkle them with water.
2) Put in the eggs

3) Close the lid and press "Cook" button

4) Wait till the button jumps up. When it does, TURN OFF THE ELECTRICITY POWER. Do not leave them too long inside the rice cooker after cooked ...only do so if you prefer a harder egg yolk.

5) The eggs are ready.

Must-Have Software for MBA

1. EndNote
2. Microsoft Office (Excel should have all add-ins eg. solver is a good tool, Equations too).
3. PDF writer and reader (I'm using Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional - allow you to copy text and paste them in your assignment)
4. Gmail Notifier (for Gmail users - able to alert users with incoming emails)
5. Burner - to burn all assignments on CDs.

Referencing...

The whole MBA is about referencing and critical discussion. Students can score good marks if they can have both managed well. Referencing can be aided with the use of End Note. USQ makes students life easy by being able to import the referencing details direct into programs like Endnotes. It is time saving. Some improvement could be done with the End Note. Throughout the course, there are -3 types of referencing styles:

Finance style - eg. figures should be spelled in words.
Law style - eg quoting law codes
Harvard style - this is the general one which I have come across.

I find it it could be useful if they can have endnote template which can fulfil the requirements of the different style of referencing. EndNote's existing template is not compatible with the requirements mention in the communication booklet. USQ has offer EndNote for free for its students. That's a good for us.

Bad economy... work stress!

I think I may have made a wrong choice to work in the current company. There are just too many downsides.

-far
-stress
-uncooperative colleagues
-unreasonable job assignment for new comers
-forces leave and less pay! Oh God!
-work late, no extra pay
-my mentor is not doing his job
-job complexity – too much for a title assigned

I try to figure out the benefits so that I hope I can have a balance mind that allows me to go on.
+Gym – never workout so far
+Canteen – safe fuel
+Yoga class – never join before
+good reputation
+Monday to Friday job

I think I already have the answer in my mind. My advice to you all out there:-Be careful of joining an international company and you may face the risk of pay cut as soon as you join them!

2 job offer at the same time...

Golden opportunity after a long waited moment. I am looking forward for a change in my career and all of sudden; I got calls from 2 employers. The first one was to work with a local firm as a secretary, the second which is my present post as a customer service engineer.

I have made my mind to join the second one since it is a dream job for most employees. However, I had accepted offer to become a secretary. I was lucky that the HR did not require me to give any compensation for withdrawing the job application.

During this period, I had valuable advices from my friends. But I still think that honesty is the best policy. Being honest allow me bargain for higher pay in my interviews with the second company. And this makes it easier for my decision.

Jobstreet - bad experiences

1
Bad experience with this employer. Very unprofessional one. The HR called me for a job interview but said that the venue shall be confirmed on the next day. So I patiently waited for the detail. Guess what, she said that, due to the hotel’s conference rooms are fully booked, her boss schedule interview at his condominium. Sick! I declined and even wrote to jobstreet to complain this. No reply from jobstreet.

2
Earn money at home jobs. I was thirsty for extra income. Therefore I wrote to one of the advertisers who promise an income by doing typing jobs, and surfing internet. He asked for RM300 deposit. So sick. Why would I believe in such job?
